Founded by Shivani, the journey began over a decade ago with a simple service — eyebrow threading. What started in a small stockroom in Canterbury quickly grew through trust, word of mouth, and a commitment to consistently delivering beautiful results.
Today, MALA brings together that same foundation of precision and care with a modern approach to beauty. From brows and lashes to nails, skin treatments, waxing and advanced aesthetics, every treatment is designed to feel considered, effective, and easy to maintain.
The name MALA was inspired by Shivani’s mother — a symbol of strength, dignity, and timeless beauty. Those values continue to shape everything we do, from the way we treat our clients to the way we build our team and spaces.
MALA is now home to two locations in Canterbury, each offering a slightly different experience.
Mala Beauty Lounge
Located inside Fenwick, our beauty lounge is designed as a calm, elevated space for nails, beauty treatments and self-care. With a focus
on detail, premium products, and thoughtful touches — including drinks during your appointment — it’s a place to pause and enjoy the experience.
MALA Canterbury (High Street)
Our High Street salon is where the journey began. Here, you’ll find the same trusted team, offering brows, lashes, waxing, skin treatments, advanced aesthetics and more — with a strong focus on expertise, consistency, and results.
As MALA continues to grow, our focus remains the same — creating spaces where clients feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely looked after.
